USS Bogue Escort Carrier Model by TAMIYA

During the early stages of World War 2, the German Navy's "U-Boat" submarines were a significant threat to the Allied Forces operating in the North Atlantic Ocean. In order to combat this threat, new destroyers were constructed specifically to escort transport vessels, along with escort carriers that could provide continuous air protection to convoys throughout their journey across the Atlantic. These aircraft carriers were converted from existing merchant vessels, and the U.S. Navy extensively utilized them for convoy escort and aircraft transportation. Among the aircraft included in this kit are the Avenger, Hellcat, Corsair, and Helldiver. The model measures 8.4 inches in length and represents a 1/700 scale warship.
